Penn State World Campus

The Penn State World Campus is the online campus of the University. Beginning in 1998, the World Campus grew out of a long and distinguished history in distance education at Penn State that began in 1892. The World Campus extends Penn State undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs to adult learners who do not have convenient access to other Penn State campuses. The World Campus also supports the integration of e-learning at Penn State through its participation in initiatives such as the eLearning Cooperative, the Blended Learning Initiative, and the Penn State Online cooperative.

The World Campus currently delivers an ever-increasing number of online undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs in partnership with Penn State academic units, with programs being added to the curriculum on a continuing basis. Course enrollments represent individual students from all 50 states, more than 60 nations, and all 7 continents. Current program and course offerings can be found at

World Campus offices and a major part of its technical infrastructure are located in the Outreach Building at Innovation Park on the University Park campus.
