Interdisciplinary Dance Minor (DANCE) - (ARCHIVE)

PROFESSOR PATRICIA HEIGEL-TANNER, in charge

This minor is designed for those students who wish to develop their skills and knowledge because of a personal interest in this art form, and for those who wish to enhance their career opportunities through acquiring a particular expertise in dance. Potential career opportunities aligned with dance exist for those majoring in education, music, theatre, telecommunications, business, psychology, and others. Career directions include teaching, performance, production, studio or company management, public relations, choreography and, with graduate study, dance medicine and dance therapy. Twenty-three credits are required for completion of the minor with a minimum of 6 credits at the 400 level. Credits are also available for participation in the three performing dance companies: International Dancers, Contemporary Dance Company, and Orchesis.
