Mushroom Science and Technology Minor

University Park, College of Agricultural Sciences (M S T)

This interdisciplinary minor is designed to prepare students for a career in the mushroom industry. The minor offers practical work experience at the University's Mushroom Research Center.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 18 credits. The core of prescribed courses provides a foundation in the basic fundamentals of mushroom science and technology.

A grade of C or better is required for all courses in the minor.

Scheduling Recommendation by Semester Standing given like (Sem: 1-2)

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MINOR: 18 credits

PRESCRIBED COURSES (9 credits)
PPEM 405(3), PPEM 425(4), *PPEM 496(2) (Sem: 5-8)

ADDITIONAL COURSES (9 credits)
Select a minimum of 9 credits from: AG BM 200(3), ENT 202(3), ENT 313(2), FD SC 408(2), FD SC 409W(3), MGMT 150(3), MICRB 201(3), MICRB 202(2) (Sem: 3-8)

* Students must select, in consultation with the Mushroom Science and Technology adviser, at least 2 credits of independent study courses with the University's Mushroom Research Center or Mushroom Test Demonstration Facility.
