ART 011S First-Year Seminar- School of Visual Arts (1)

The First-Year Seminar will help facilitate students’ adjustment to the high expectations, demanding workload, increased academic liberties, and other aspects of the transition to college life and introduce them to their responsibilities as members of both the School of Visual Arts (SoVA) and University community. In addition, the First-Year Seminar is designed to engage students, acquaint them with the learning tools and resources available at Penn State and orient them to the SoVA community from the outset of their undergraduate studies in a way that will bridge to later experiences in their chosen program of study. The first-year seminar will serve as a broad introduction to SoVA's programs of study in Studio Art, Art Education, and Interdisciplinary Digital Studio (IDS) as well to Penn State's academic policies and procedures.
Topics to be covered:
Introduction to SoVA's areas of study (Studio Art, Art Education, and Interdisciplinary Digital Studio)
