NAVSC 204 Leadership and Management (3)
The curriculum for Leadership and Management provides the basis for the development of effective leadership and managerial competence. Underscoring interactive learning and designed to be taught by experienced, commissioned officers of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in order to provide Fleet-based examples, this course examines fundamental tenets of leadership and management in the context of the theories and principles of individual and group leadership with emphasis on how they apply to naval forces. Topics include self-leadership, self-management and team leadership while students refine and further develop their understanding of personal strengths, values and growth opportunities in the context of team, group and organizational leadership, as well as through the creation of a leadership vision and professional development plan. Students will develop knowledge, abilities and skills that will assist them as future officers to successfully operate in the context of complex military environments around the globe.
